FAQ

What is a potential mispricing on this page?
On this anomaly detector, potential mispricing is a statistical flag: growth and cash generation are unusually strong while valuation is unusually low — for example revenue growth up, FCF margin up, and P/E, P/S or P/B down — versus that company’s own filings and its industry. Research only, not a buy or sell recommendation and not financial advice.
How is the Anomaly Score calculated?
Each live metric is a z-score versus that ticker’s own quarterly history (55%) and listed-industry peers (45%). Scores shrink when filing history or the industry sample is thin, so a two-quarter spike cannot print 90+. Only a pre-registered set of growth, quality, and mispricing patterns is tested. TTM is preferred and the latest quarter must agree in sign and level. High scores require own-history confirmation on every leg, industry confirmation, and enough filing history. 90+ is exceptional. 82–89 is strong. Research only — not financial advice.
What is the Misprise Score next to the Anomaly Score?
Anomaly Score is how unusual this filing pattern is. Misprise Score is the company’s general screener score (quality, growth, and valuation together). Use Min Misprise to hide weak names even if the anomaly looks loud. A high anomaly with a low Misprise Score is often a noisy or low-quality company. Research only — not financial advice.
How do I filter OTC vs listed stocks?
Use the two Listing boxes. Listed and OTC both on shows every name. Turn OTC off to keep NYSE, Nasdaq, and similar. Turn Listed off to keep OTCQB, OTCQX, Pink, and similar. At least one box stays on. Exchange comes from SEC filings already in the screener. Research only — not financial advice.
Which combinations do you test?
A short catalog of economically meaningful pairs and triples — growth + cash + cheap, quality stacks, growth stacks — not every possible combination of eight factors.
How to read stock market charts?
How to read stock market charts on this page: the live TradingView chart is the same advanced chart as the Misprise screener. It locks to the ticker this desk is watching — Find, a morning-board chip, a row in the table, or the top flagged name. Daily candles, left to right. Recent business filings for that ticker sit under the chart. Research only, not financial advice.
Is the stock market overvalued?
There is no single yes or no to “is the stock market overvalued” or “is stock market overvalued.” Index averages can look expensive while many individual companies look cheap versus their own filings and industry — and the reverse. This detector does not time the S&P 500. It flags tickers where growth or quality is statistically high and valuation is statistically low versus that company’s history and industry. Research only — not financial advice and not a forecast.
What time does the stock market open CST?
U.S. regular equity hours (NYSE and Nasdaq) open at 8:30 a.m. Central Time — CST in winter, CDT in summer — and close at 3:00 p.m. Central (9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Eastern). Pre-market and after-hours sessions run around those times. This detector is not a trading clock. Not financial advice.
Is the stock market open on weekends?
No. Regular U.S. stock-market sessions are weekdays only. NYSE and Nasdaq are closed Saturday and Sunday, and on listed exchange holidays. Some other products trade on different calendars; listed U.S. equities in this screener do not have a weekend regular session. Not financial advice.
Is now a good time to invest in the stock market?
No page can tell you whether now is a good time to invest in the stock market. That depends on your horizon, cash needs, and risk — not on an anomaly score. This desk ranks unusual fundamental combinations versus each company’s own filings and its industry. It is research only, not a buy or sell recommendation and not financial advice. Read the ticker stock page and the SEC filings before you act.
What are the business filings under the chart?
The gold line under the chart is the gem from the latest 8-K — the comparison the filing actually prints (revenue vs last year, EPS, a deal, an impairment). Chips are the other quoted facts. The sentence above it is why this desk flagged the name (the unusual combination versus this company’s own history). Cards open EDGAR. Research only, not financial advice.
What is Historic Anomalies?
Historic Anomalies is a ledger of confirmed anomaly patterns only, including losing names. A high Misprise Score by itself is not added. 30-day, 90-day, 180-day and 1-year figures are close-to-close from the find date, filled once from Marketstack EOD (cached; every API call is logged). Win rate, median 30-day, max drawdown, SPY benchmark and turnover describe the full anomaly book. Research only, not a forecast and not financial advice.
What does the 13F buy/sell ratio mean?
It is the most recent calendar quarter with enough 13F-HR filings on the Misprise desk (for example Q2 2026). Buy and sell counts are unique managers who increased versus cut share count in that quarter versus the prior quarter — not dollar-value noise from price moves, and not a mix of each fund’s own latest filing. Dollar in/out is secondary. It is not a buy or sell signal. Open the 13F page for the fund list and filings. Research only — not financial advice.
Is this investment advice?
No. Educational research from SEC-derived fundamentals already in the Misprise screener. Open the ticker stock page and read the filings before you act. Not financial advice.
Why should I check this detector every day?
The morning board is dated on the New York calendar. Daily is available by 9:00 a.m. Eastern on weekdays (8:00 a.m. Central, 7:00 a.m. Mountain, 6:00 a.m. Pacific; UTC and London shift with daylight saving). Refresh starts at 4:00 a.m. Eastern. After that scan it lists names that arrived, names that left, and a one-line change versus the previous board. When the full seed chain finishes — this detector, Biggest Movers, stock pages, 13F, PIT, then forecast — the board can update again. Weekly screener seed is last and does not block the 9:00 a.m. Eastern desk. It is research only, not a trading alert and not financial advice.
Can I get notified of new flags or install this as an app?
Yes. Tap Notify (the bell) and allow notifications. On iPhone, add this page to the Home Screen first, open the installed app, then tap Notify. Install app adds a home-screen shortcut. Alerts are research flags only — not financial advice and not a buy or sell signal.
