Methodology

How a path is built

  1. Load the latest as-filed row for each ticker (TTM, then quarter, then fiscal year).
  2. Blend 3-year and 5-year revenue CAGR when both exist; otherwise use EPS CAGR; otherwise 6%.
  3. Fade that rate toward 5.5% per year so extreme history does not compound forever.
  4. Bear uses 0.48× growth and compressed margins. Bull uses 1.22× growth and modest expansion. Base is the faded CAGR.
  5. Net income follows revenue × fading margin (toward 10%). Misprise Score mean-reverts toward 50.

Confidence rises with filled fields (revenue, CAGRs, margin, score, ROE). Missing names are reported, not invented.

FAQ

Forecast terminal

What does the Misprise forecaster model?
It projects as-filed revenue, net income, margins, and Misprise Score for the tickers you name. Paths use SEC CAGRs from the latest screener row, faded toward a long-run 5.5% growth anchor, with bear, base, and bull multipliers. It is not a share-price target and not advice.
Where do the numbers come from?
The same as-filed SEC statistics that power Misprise stock pages: revenue, net income, 3-year and 5-year CAGRs, profit margin, and Misprise Score. Each ticker page links the filing period used.
Does the terminal hide this page from search engines?
No. The brief, anomaly list, methodology, and FAQ stay in the HTML. The terminal is an overlay you open after the page loads. Crawlers still index the brief.
How is a session saved?
Tickers, horizon, and scenario are stored in this browser. Named slots keep the last eight books. Signed-in users can also pin the latest book to their Misprise account. Forecast tables are re-run from live filings when you restore, so paths stay current.
Is this investment advice?
No. Educational research only. Verify each filing on the ticker stock page before you act.
